perfectly imperfect

You know how there are times when a certain scripture or idea seems to pop up every time you're reading or in conversation with someone? It's like God's way of saying, "Listen, dummy, I WILL get this through your thick skull one way or another."Lately, for me it's been Hebrews 10:14

For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.

Ever since Buddy (or maybe Sis) was born I feel like I've been wrestling with my justification and this scripture has been on my heart. It's a great memory verse if you're looking for one to cling to. The following excerpt is from "Taste and See" and John Piper said it better than I ever could.

What this means is that you can know that you stand perfect in the eyes of your heavenly Father, if you are moving away from your present imperfection toward more and more holiness by faith in his future grace..... Hebrews 10:14 means that you can have assurance that you stand perfected and completed in the eyes of your heavenly Father, not because you are perfect now, but precisely because you are not perfect now but are "being sanctified" - "being made holy."
